Jesus Took Different Forms

Argument:

  • Jesus manifested Himself in different forms to convince the Disciples that He had risen from the dead. See Mark 16:12: "Afterward Jesus appeared in a different FORM to two of them while they were walking in the country."

Rebuttal:

  • Mark 16: 9-20 was not in the original Gospel because it is not found in our most ancient manuscripts.

  • In John 2:19-21, Jesus clearly taught that His body would be raised, so to believe He was raised/appeared in a different form would mean he was being deceptive.

  • 1 Timothy 2:5 says,  "For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," Jesus is said to be a man. If Jesus was not raised physically, then how could he be a man without a body of flesh and bones?
