The most important thing for you to do is dedicate as much time as you possibly can to feeding your relationship with Christ. One of the main ways of doing this is by reading the Gospels. You need to “get to know” Jesus. It is no longer you who lives but Christ who lives through you (Galatians 2:20). Read through the Gospels over and over again. When you get done reading through them, do it again. You want to see how Christ acted and take in everything He said. It needs to embed itself in both your mind and heart. Here is my recommended reading order:

  1. The Gospels

  2. The Gospels

  3. Acts

  4. The Gospels

  5. The rest of the New Testament

  6. The Gospel of Matthew

  7. The Torah (first five books of the Old Testament)

  8. The Gospel of Luke

  9. Joshua through 2 Samuel

  10. The Gospel of Mark

  11. 1 Kings through Esther

  12. The Gospel of John

  13. Job

  14. The Gospel of Matthew

  15. Psalms

  16. The Gospel of John

  17. Proverbs through Song of Solomon

  18. The Gospel of Mark

  19. Isaiah

  20. The Gospel of Matthew

  21. Jeremiah and Lamentations

  22. The Gospel of Luke

  23. Ezekiel and Daniel

  24. The Gospel of Matthew

  25. Daniel through Habakkuk

  26. The Gospel of John

  27. Zephaniah through Malachi

  28. The Gospel of Matthew

Yes, this is doable. By doing this you will get to know Christ at an extremely deep level. And you will have gained the wisdom and understanding to protect you from anyone or anything that seeks to twist Scripture. Consider this, when someone is trying to find a counterfeit dollar bill, they don’t study all the numerous counterfeits out there. Instead, they intently study the original so that when they see a counterfeit, they will immediately be able to see it. Study the Scriptures intently. As you read through it, talk to God about it. Pray to Him and ask that He instructs. Constantly be praying for faith, wisdom and understanding.
